Statesville Police Officer Involved in Collision While Responding to Emergency Call
STATESVILLE, NC – On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., a Statesville Police Department officer responding to a vehicle collision with injuries was involved in a traffic accident at the intersection of Turnersburg Highway and Glenway Drive.
The officer was traveling southbound on Turnersburg Highway with blue lights and siren activated. As the officer entered the intersection, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Glenway Drive crossed Turnersburg Highway toward Sunset Hill Road. The police vehicle collided with the Silverado, causing the truck to overturn and subsequently strike a 2018 Dodge Journey that was stopped at the traffic light.
Both the officer and the driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and were transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital for evaluation. No injuries were reported from the driver of the Dodge Journey.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Any further inquiries regarding the investigation should be directed to the NC State Highway Patrol.
