SPD Officers Graduate from National Polygraph Academy

The Statesville Police Department is proud to congratulate Sgt. Jeffrey Porter and Cpl. Jessica Osborne on graduating from the National Polygraph Academy's 400-hour Basic Polygraph Examiner Program on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The intensive 10-week program was held at the Samarcand Training Academy in Jackson Springs, North Carolina. The National Polygraph Academy's Basic Polygraph Examiner Program is accredited by the American Polygraph Association and recognized by the American Association of Police Polygraphists. Graduates receive specialized training in validated polygraph examination techniques and scoring methods used throughout the profession.

By successfully completing the program, Sgt. Porter and Cpl. Osborne have gained advanced skills that will further enhance the Statesville Police Department's investigative capabilities. Polygraph examinations can serve as a valuable investigative tool by helping investigators gather information, evaluate statements, and assist in the development of criminal cases.
