Young Detectives Solve The Great Mr. Horse Mystery: SPD Summer Camp Day 2
The second day of the Statesville Police Department Summer Camp challenged campers to put their investigative skills to the test as they worked together to solve The Great Mr. Horse Mystery.
The day began by welcoming several new campers to the program. Through icebreakers, games, and group activities, campers had the opportunity to get to know one another while building new friendships. Officers and camp leaders helped create a welcoming environment that encouraged teamwork and participation from everyone.
A Mystery to Solve
After the morning activities, campers received their mission: find the missing Mr. Horse. Working in teams, the young detectives searched for four hidden clues placed throughout the camp. Each clue brought them one step closer to solving the mystery, requiring campers to communicate, think critically, and work together to piece together the puzzle. As the investigation progressed, excitement grew as teams raced to uncover the next clue and be the first to solve the case. Friendly competition kept campers engaged while reinforcing the importance of teamwork and problem-solving.
Cracking the Case
After following the clues and narrowing down the possibilities, the campers finally solved the mystery. Mr. Horse was discovered sitting inside Officer Craig's patrol car, bringing the investigation to a successful conclusion. The activity provided a fun and interactive way for campers to practice observation, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills while learning more about the investigative work officers perform.
Looking Ahead
Day 2 was filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of detective work. The campers demonstrated impressive determination and collaboration throughout the challenge, making The Great Mr. Horse Mystery a memorable part of this year's SPD Summer Camp. We look forward to seeing what adventures and learning opportunities await on Day 3.
