Fun, Friendship, and a Day at the Pool: SPD Summer Camp

Last Updated 6/26/2026Posted in SPD Summer Camp, Police News

After three exciting days of games, safety lessons, hands-on activities, and team challenges, campers at the Statesville Police Department Summer Camp enjoyed a well-deserved day of fun in the sun during Day 4.

The group spent the day at the Statesville Leisure Pool, where campers traded their sneakers for swimsuits and cooled off after an action-packed week. It was a chance to relax, enjoy the water, and continue building friendships in a fun and welcoming environment.

A Day to Recharge

From swimming and splashing to playing games in the pool, campers made the most of every moment. The afternoon gave everyone an opportunity to unwind while enjoying time together outside of the classroom and activity stations.

While Day 4 focused on recreation, it also continued one of the camp's most important goals - strengthening positive relationships between young people and the officers who serve the Statesville community.

Building Connections Beyond the Classroom

SPD Summer Camp is designed to do more than teach important safety lessons. Throughout the week, campers have had opportunities to interact with officers through games, challenges, educational activities, and conversations that help build trust and lasting community connections.

The time spent together at the pool was another opportunity for officers and campers to laugh, encourage one another, and create memories that will last long after summer camp comes to an end.

Thank You to Our Community Partners

The Statesville Police Department extends a special thank you to the Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality Department and the staff at the Statesville Leisure Pool for helping make Day 4 such a memorable experience for our campers.

Looking Ahead

With one exciting day remaining, campers still have plenty to look forward to as they wrap up another unforgettable week of learning, friendship, and fun at the 2026 SPD Summer Camp.
