Arrest Made After Illegal Drug Related Complaints

Last Updated 2/11/2024

Statesville, North Carolina February 11, 2024: The Statesville Police Department has successfully addressed complaints regarding illegal drug activity at 928 Glade Street.

Following reports regarding the illegal drug activity, investigators and officers conducted surveillance on the residence. In addition to gathering intelligence, undercover purchases of crack cocaine were made from this location. On February 6, 2024, investigators obtained a search warrant for the property, and was executed just after 7 PM.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers secured the residence and conducted a thorough search. This resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal substances, including nearly 30 grams of cocaine, 105 dosage units of oxycodone, and 11 grams of marijuana. Additionally, officers confiscated a sum of U.S. currency and various drug paraphernalia items.

The suspect, identified as Randall Antonio Carr, 44, of Statesville, was apprehended at the scene. However, during the course of the investigation, Carr experienced a medical emergency and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Following medical evaluation, Carr was admitted for further observation.

After being discharged from the hospital on February 8, Carr was taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II narcotic (Oxycodone), felony maintenance of a dwelling/place for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carr was presented before a magistrate, who ordered him held at the Iredell County Detention Center without bond due to his existing bond status related to other charges.

The Statesville Police Department remains committed to combating illegal drug activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. We encourage residents to report any suspicious behavior, as your cooperation plays a crucial role in our efforts.
