Suspect Arrested in Davie Avenue Stabbing Incident
STATESVILLE, NC – On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the Statesville Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 2580 Davie Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Personnel from Iredell County EMS and the Statesville Fire Department rendered immediate aid and transported the victim to Iredell Memorial Hospital. Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was later airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers and investigators quickly located the suspect, identified as Jordan Austin Reid, 31, of Statesville, in the parking lot of the Hallmark Inn. During a search of Reid, officers recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the assault. Due to the extensive crime scene, traffic in the area was detoured as the investigation unfolded.
According to witness statements and surveillance footage, Reid and the victim were involved in a physical altercation inside the business located at 2580 Davie Avenue. During the altercation, Reid began stabbing the victim multiple times. The victim fled the store but was pursued by Reid, who continued the assault in the parking lot. The victim ultimately collapsed in the roadway. Reid then returned to the Hallmark Inn, where he was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant executed on Reid’s room at the Hallmark Inn led to the discovery of additional evidence connected to the assault.

Reid has been charged in connection with the assault and was taken before a magistrate, where he received a $25,000 secured bond.
