Statesville Police Department Welcomes Three New Officers
The Statesville Police Department is proud to announce the addition of three new officers to its team. Mayor Costi Kutteh and Police Chief David Onley presided over a swearing-in ceremony held today in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The ceremony was attended by the officers’ family members, friends, and fellow law enforcement colleagues.

A Statesville native and graduate of North Iredell High School, Officer Shoffner joined the National Guard as a Combat Engineer at the age of 17. He recently completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program at Mitchell Community College in December. He expressed his excitement about the opportunity to serve his hometown community.

Chief Onley shared his confidence in the new officers, saying, “It’s always an honor to welcome individuals who are committed to serving and protecting our community. Officers Shoffner, Hirsh, and Hayes bring unique experiences and a shared passion for making a positive impact in Statesville. I look forward to seeing their contributions to our department and our city.”
