Juvenile Shooting Incident on Crescent Lane

May 22, 2024 – Statesville, NC – On May 21, 2024, at approximately 9:45 PM, the Statesville Police Department responded to a call reporting that a subject had been shot in the 600 block of Crescent Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a 13-year-old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Immediate medical care was administered on the scene, and the victim was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for further treatment.

During the investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile. A search warrant was executed at the suspect's residence, where the 16-year-old was located and taken into custody without further incident. The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted and has issued a secure custody order for Attempted Murder. The victim is currently in stable condition.
