Statesville Police Department Welcomes Five New Officers

On February 14, 2024, the Statesville Police Department welcomed five new officers into its ranks during a swearing-in ceremony held at the City Council Chambers of Statesville City Hall. Chief David Onley presided over the event, introducing each officer, while Mayor Costi Kutteh had the honor of administering the oath.

Wadrina Ealy


Officer Wadrina Ealy, a native of Statesville, joined the Statesville Police Department as a telecommunicator in February 2022.  She transitioned to a recruit position and completed Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) at Rowan Cabarrus Community College in 2023.

Cali Adams


Officer Cali Adams is a native of Statesville and holds a degree in psychology and forensic anthropology from Western Carolina University.  She completed BLET at Mitchell Community College and graduated in December 2023.

Hayden Harkey


Officer Hayden Harkey is a native of Statesville and holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Western Carolina University. He completed his BLET training at Mitchell Community College, graduating in December 2023.

Orion Mathis


Officer Orion Mathis is a native of Wilkes County.  He holds a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in general business from Appalachian State University.  He completed BLET at Wilkes Community College and graduated in December 2023.

Justin Thooft


Officer Justin Thooft is a native of Lidderdale, Iowa.  He attended BLET at Wilkes Community College and graduated in December 2023.

The addition of these officers to the Statesville Police Department reflects the department's commitment to excellence and serving the community. Each officer brings unique skills and experiences that will contribute to maintaining public safety and enhancing community relations. We are thrilled to welcome them to our family and look forward to the valuable contributions they will make to our community.
